Oh! I forgot!...

Just a quick post to say that in my chaos of last week, I forgot I was going to show you what arrived in the mail. A little while back I was the pick for the week for one of Mel's challenges and if that wasn't exciting enough!!!!.... she sent me this little parcel of goodies! Talk about 'make my day' (ps: it did also have a little bag of lollies, but they didn't last very long! LOL)

Isn't it wonderful to receive something in the mail! That warm fuzzy feeling sure beats electronic mail any day! (not that I'm going to stop that LOL)

Thanks Mel!!!!!!

Mel's Weekly Challenge No.1

Mel's weekly challenge for this week was to make a Christmas card using non-christmas colours. I have wanted to have a go at this design technique, of reverse masking, for AGES!!! I think it is such a simple but very beautiful idea. I have seen lots of cards using this idea (one cuts circles out of some scrap paper and then uses the holes for a stencil to make the Christmas baubles - neat huh!!) And when I went looking for the challenge post on Mel's blog, to attach this to, I found one there also LOL. I'm very please with how it turned out (I think it looks very similar to just about everyone else's so I can't go too wrong LOL)

Supplies used: (All Stampin' Up of course!!!)
Stamp Sets: Many Merry Messages, Season of Joy
Inks: Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose (sponged shading on bauble), Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant
Card stock: Pretty in Pink, Perfect Plum, Whisper White
Extras: Ribbon, Brads, Diamond Dust glitter, Sponges, 2-Way glue pen

November Workshop

Hello all!!!!! Remember me!!! The world's worst blogger! LOL

Today was my very first Stamp-a-Stack {YAH!} plus my last workshop for the year {*SOB*}. And what an afternoon!!!! We all had so much fun! {Well I think we all did :-))}

And I am SOOOO proud of my girls!! 'cause we had 9 girls at two stations and we started at approx. 1pm and were all finished by 4.15!! I was expecting them to go till about 5.30 - 6pm 'cause I have been told that my cards were too detailed for a stamp-a-stack. But my girls did it, and in record time!! SOOO proud of you all.

I have mentioned before that I recon I have the BEST bunch of girls that come each month. And today I thought that more than ever. I am very very lucky to have such a wonderful, supportive friendly group. (both groups) And I thank you all for that! (that includes the ones that were unable to make it today - thank you also)

For our first card we have used:
Stamp Sets: Season of Joy and Many Merry Messages.
Inks: Old Olive.
Card stock: Real Red, Old Olive and Very Vanilla and Dashing DS paper.
Extras: 5/8 Real Red grosgrain ribbon, Paper Piercer and Mat, 2-Way glue pen, Dazzling Diamond glitter, Double Rectangle punch, Dimensionals.

For the next card we used:
Stamp Sets: Season of Joy.
Inks: Always Artichoke, Purely Pomegranate.
Card stock: Always Artichoke, Purely Pomegranate, Whisper White.
Extras: Purely Pomegranate double stitched ribbon, Silver brads, Dimensionals.

Ps: I will be back lots and lots in the near future (I hope LOL) to show all the things that I did up for prizes, thank you gifts, etc.
