12 Days of Christmas Part 2....

Hi again - Here are the last two photos I managed to find....

The box with the magnolia flower was for '5 Golden Rings' which I changed to Golden Balls and put 5 Ferrero Roches inside. For me, this was the 'prize' prize LOL as I LOVE these flowers!!!
And I FINALLY found a template on the net to make the birds in the latest SU catalogue and made four of them for '4 Calling Birds' which I changed to '4 Curly Birds'. Except for the beak/mouth area they were quite easy.... but that area was another story!!! LOL

12 Days of Christmas....

Hi all - How are you are going and "Happy New Year" to you all - Hoping this year brings you all much love, happiness and prosperity!!!!

Just this last year past (I can say that now LOL) I pa
rticipated in our annual 'Secret Santa two weeks of fun' at work. We were given our SS and then for the last two weeks before the holidays we could chose to give them small gifts with clues for them to try and guess whose theirs was b
efore the big pressy giving day on the last day. Mine I knew was into all sorts of crafts (lucky me) so I decides to do a modified '12
Days of Christmas' for her. With help from my hubby and anoth
er friend we came up with some different things - but didn't get photos of all the things :(

The first thing I gave her was '12 Chicken Drummies' and I made a little box and put in 12 (yes only 12) of the little mini cracker biscuits that a
re shaped like chicken legs.

Next day I gave her this over-sized Christmas cracker w
ith 11 Chocolate wafer pipes. (on the tin they are called wafer sticks)
I printed the tags on the computer and cut them out with my Big Shot - I put the same tag on every one with whatever it was supposed to be, crossed out, with the new item written above it like in the picture.

For 10 Lords a Leaping, I changed Lords to frogs and filled this Santa box with 10 Freddo frogs. I got the idea for this box from here.
This is what I made for '9 Ladies Dancing' and this is where I realized maybe I had bitten off more than I could chew LOL... (I was making each item the night before) Anyway I decided I would make 9 dollies dancing but none of my friends who owned a Cri-cut had a dolls pattern (one friend could get it the next day for me but that was too late) ....... Soooo since I had my heart set on this idea (and I couldn't think of anything else that would go)....... I sat up till all hours making these from scratch!!! I found a picture and cut out each doll, each hair, each legs, each, leotard, each skirt... (don't you think that the vellum skirt was a nice touch) and then I glittered along the edge of each skirt and waist and hair bun.
I'm sure I took photos of all but the first and last but I only have the ones here plus two others which I have since found but am struggling to get them to go where I want them to go on here so will do them as a seperate post. AARGH!!!! - frustrating!!!!

Also..... since posting again I am having no end of trouble with my post, eg: half the writing one size and half another size and no amount of highlighting and clicking will change it!!!! AAAARGH!!!!!

I had my Christmas wish post all in different sizes and colours and really pretty on the posting screen and then I posted it and it was just small normal writing. I tried re-doing it from scratch and nope.... no changes :( don't cope when things don't work like they should....

I'm to the point of not blogging because I really can't cope with things like that!! LOL

Anyone with suggestions would be greatly appreciated... :)

Christmas S-a-S Prizes...

Hi all - Just trying to get all my Chrissy photos in before Christmas LOL....

At the annual S-A-S I give out prizes to everyone. This year I was a little bit slack and wrapped the magoritoty of them just as normal pressies. But I did manage to do one or two fancy items as the main attractions....

This Magnolia uses the SU Ornament Punch and instructions can be found here. I JUST had to have a go at it when I saw it as it is SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! And it is a lot easier than it looks.... Trust me on that LOL... The longest part is sponging around the edges of each piece! Then I made a cute little box to put it on. There is also instructions on YouTube to make this flower into a tea light and that is just as gorgeous!!! I have also made one of those and will post at a later date... if I can find the photo :(

These lillies are made using the SU large oval punch. I came across these first before the Magnolia flower. These were going to be placed on my thank you gifts for the girls but since I had to make 18 of them (and they were quite fiddly) I didn't... sorry girls :)

I haven't made mine completely the same as in the instructions but I still think they are beautiful.
And these I made because I was just searching for another flower but a very different one... Instructions here. These use 5 x 3"inch squares for each flower. One folds then up then glues them together, holds them altogether with paper-clips, and then waits till they dry and hope they don't let go LOL.... But they are cute aren't they? People are just so clever!!!
Anyway hope you are enjoying seeing my works again......

October's Christmas Workshop....

Hi all - trying to get in as many as I can before I get slack again LOL....

Here are the cards from our October workshops which were fancy Christmas cards. The first one is of a Spring/Jump card and the instructions for it can be found on Splitcoast Stampers (where else LOL) I did find instructions on the Scor-pal website also and one of the instructions said to cut off the top triangles and the other said to fold them down. We found that the card worked better if one cut them off....

Our next card was an Acetate card. I have wanted to try one of these for a VERY long time!!! And to think I thought they would be hard.... I found it to be one of the easiest, most effective cards I have ever made. If you are looking for a really quick card and you would like a WOW factor also then you can't go past one of these!....
And then we finished off making a Christmas lumminerie complete with a battery operated tealight inside.... wasn't as effective as I thought they would be but still fun making them.

A 40th.....

Hi all - remember me??? My usual greeting these days LOL - Anyway let's not get caught up on the little things LOL!!! Here is the card that I made for my younger sister's birthday in April. I wanted it to be really, really pretty. And these colours are so girly aren't they? I also wanted some glitter as I am not using it as I used to (does everyone else go though fazes like I do? - I used to use VersaMark on EVERY single card and now I use it on none!!!) Anyway back to what I was saying.... I have put glitter around the '40' to make it look like a tag. (But I don't remember what I did.....???? - It looks pink so I must have punched a pink ring first and glued that on and then put glitter on that...???) Old age...... of all the things I miss, I miss my mind the most LOL!!!

All My Friends are Turning 40!.....

Well, some of my friends are LOL....

Hi all - here is the card that I made for my good friend Jacqui's 40th birthday (beginning of Feb) - She is such a fun person that I wanted something pretty (loves purple and butterflies) but also want something with humour. I was really pleased with how this card turned out (wasn't looking so good half way through LOL)

Brother's Birthdays...

Hi all - How are you all going? It is so HOT and STEAMY here at the moment!!! What I am more suprised about is that I am sitting in the hottest room of our house and without the aircon on????.... What the?......... Not like me at all {LOL} I am all for comfort!

Anyway back to the reason I am here..... The top card is the card I made for one of our nephews - this time I was smart {no comments on that please} and made a little pull-out section so that the choccies could come out! Anyway, I made that card using the choccies for inspiration for the colours but then saw that I didn't actually make the colours in question show in the front - the green and yellow ones were in there also - the things one learns.........

Then a couple of weeks later, it was his little brother's birthday so I made him a matching card. Just changing the colours around a bit. And remembering to make all the colours show.....

When making the second card one would think it would be easy peasy as I had already made it to know what to do.... right???? WRONG!!! Or it is just me...

It seemed at the time that I did everything backwards and the amount of times that I had to start over 'cause I had done a step wrong.... let me tell you if it wasn't for the fact that we were going to the party that same day.... well you can guess where that card may have ended up!!! {minus the choccies of course!! LOL)

Step Layers......

Edited: YAH!!!! I made the top five!!!

Hi all - How are you all going? This is my VERY belated friend's birthday card. I had to get it done as I was going to miss yet ANOTHER challenge if I didn't LOL! Also the fact that I am SO late has to come into consideration doesn't it?......

When I started planning this card I was also going to use Kristina's one time colour challenge but that ran out, plus I was going to do the first-of-the-month challenge at Mojo Monday but that ran out also..... then I was going to incorporate another colour challenge but missed it also.... getting the idea.... LOL So I thought if I didn't get it done quickly then I'm going to miss the
ABC challenge also as it finished this Wednesday. But looky here! YAH! I got it done!!!!

The ABC challenge for this fortnight is L for Layers and so I decided (since now it was my only challenge to concentrate on LOL) to do a Step card (layered card, right?) plus I have layered everything! Do you think I have enough layers for the challenge LOL.

Now I just have to get it to my friend before she sees this LOL. She is not usually an internet surfer like me :)

Birthday Roses.....

Hi all - This is the other sideways step card that I made. I am so pleased with them. I love how they are a bit different. The only thing with a a bit different is it takes a lot longer to make!!! So one doesn't get to make as many cards as one may like to :}

I made this for a fellow demonstrator whose birthday was just before Christmas. And for once in my life I was reasonably organised and had it made on time ready to post. Can you believe it! I don't know if it arrived in time with the Chrissy post but at least I know I sent it LOL. And now I'm back to my old ways.... :{ am already late with one friend's card. Her birthday was last week and I have planned her card a few times but haven't made one yet. Bad bad girl!!!

And to top it off, I start back at work next week and we have just started re-doing bedrooms! What the?...... Have had six weeks off and hubby three, and now we start???????? So going to be a very busy household over the next couple of weeks..... But don't know how much card making is going to get done.... Never know might inspire me more LOL... We can only wait and see............

Birthday Sweets...

Hi all - I made this card in the week leading up to Christmas for a 10 year old boy. It was my first attempt at a 'Treat Cup' card and....... it wasn't until I finished that I thought about how they were going to get the sweets out without wrecking the card???????? Oops!

Have since thought about it as well as look at some different ideas on the net to know what to do next time. Seems to be quite a few others had the same thoughts LOL

Ps: I have cased this from the mini catalogue.

Happy Birthday to Whoo!

Hi all - I am so proud of this card! I just love it! I made it about a week ago for a friend who really LOVES owls and have planned to make her a punched owl card ever since we had that arvo playing with the punches...... But then..... I forgot her birthday!!!!!!! Can you believe it!!! I was horrified!!!!!! Her birthday was the day after my DH's in NOVEMBER!!.... So I hope she liked it and forgives me... LOL (I still haven't made my DH a card....)

I have made another one of these cards - in different colours and designs - but I don't think it would have arrived yet so will have to wait to put it on here.

I got the idea for this from a bought card that another friend received, and thought that I liked the idea so went home and had a play with sizings and folds until I was happy with the base.

And just for you Jacqui :) I remembered to write down my measurements:

Start with a sheet 10" x 6" then score and fold along the 10" side at 2", 3", 5", & 7" - almost like making a step card, only sideways.

You could make it 8" long and score at 2", 3", 5" & 6" but that leaves the last panel only 2" long instead of 3" and I preferred the wider panel for putting more on.

Hi all - here is a card I made, for a good friend of mine, a couple of weeks ago. It is almost entirely cased from here. I even still had some of the same papers but I have used mine in a slightly different comb though. And I put a different embellishment on the front as I have been wanting for a long time to have a go at one of those 'fan fold flowers'.

I absolutely ADORE the colours I have used here - I think they are so pretty. It was a set of DS papers that I was really sad to see go :(

And in the middle of my flower I have used one of the designer flower brads that I received in my convention pressie from my lovely sister-in-law / fellow demonstrator
Judy.

Baby Card...

Here is the baby card I made for the lovely, little Lucy :)

A bit late getting it on here as she is a few weeks old now LOL.

I have used a Sizzix die for the template of the pram and paper pieced it. The sentiment in the middle is printed off the computer as I had no baby messages.

Oh how I LOVE step cards!

A Wedding Card...

And yes! another Tri-Shutter card!..... I really wanted to make one for the wedding we went to as I wanted something very dramatic and very stylish. Mind you when I saw this card here I nearly changed my mind and cased it, so I decided to use the ideas of that card to make this one. I was extremlly pleased with how it turned out and I have heard that the recipients were very pleased with it also. {beaming}

And Another Tri-Shutter Card....

AND yet another Tri-Shutter card LOL..... This was my prize winning one - is this where I say that there weren't that many entries LOL - But I was still very pleased to get the prize with this card. :)

I made this for a good friend's birthday. I have used Crystal Effects on this card also. :) Crystal Effects, my new 'friend' LOL

I have a wedding card to make and I can't decide whether to make one of these cards (Yes, another one!) or to case a beautiful card I spotted a couple of weeks ago.... decisions decisions, decisions.... Check back in a while and see what I decided LOL

Boy's Birthday Tilt Card....

Hi all - here is a card that i made with one of my sons for a their friend's birthday. We have made a 'tilt' card witht he truck 'rocketing' or 'rocking' along the road. LOL

The piece of blue ribbon was just what we needed for the 'road' and it was the piece of ribbon tied around my prize from convention. Just what we needed... :)

Another Tri-Shutter....

Hi all - This would have to be my 'All-time Favourite' card. (for now anyway LOL) I was sooo very, very pleased with how this card turned out. I am adoring these Tri-Shutter cards so much that I want to make them for everyone!!!! LOL. I did make this for a friend's birthday and it was one of those cards that I just struggled to give away LOL.

I have made yet another one of these style of cards and entered it into a local craft/flower show last weekend and I got first prize for it so I am very, very happy!!!!!!! :) Will show it on a later posting.....

More Mystery Slider Cards...........

Hi all - a friend (hi Mary) wanted to have a go at making a 'Magic Slider' card so came over one day a few weeks ago to make one. They are very time consuming to make as we found out LOL 'cause even with me having made one before and having a fair idea of what to do, it still took us from approx. 10.30am till 2pm to make the cards.

This is the card that I made - which I did make for someone, but I still haven't finished the present so it is still here LOL.....

And this is the one Mary did - It was beautiful!!!

Tri-Shutter Card...

Hi all - are these Tri-Shutter cards the most beautiful cards ever designed????? I think so. Mind you after making this one I swore I would never make another one again!!!! LOL

I had a card making day (all day and into the night) with some friends at the end of the school holidays and 3 of us decided to have a go at making one of these cards. On the day, I was the only one who persevered (the other two threw theirs LOL) 'cause I felt I had no choice LOL as I was making it for a friend's 40th and wanted a really special card and also it was the same papers I was using to make her a gift. (which I gave up on in the end and bought something instead LOL) One of the others did also end up finishing theirs at a later date.

These cards, I find, frustrating up until the patterned layers are on and then it is plain sailing from there. Really, they are not as hard as I am making them out to be, but we just struggled getting the shaped pieces to fit nicely. But after ones finished, one will notice that the small discrepancies are not noticeable because of the layers and folds. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.... LOL Great tutorials here and here.

I have made mine so that I have the centre panel to write on.

Ps: But they are so beautiful and so intriguing that I have just finished another one for another friend's birthday. But that's for another day. Stay tuned Melissa for more postings..... :D

Engagement Card....

This is a card I have almost completely cased from Leah here. I could say that it is slightly different to make it my own but it's only different 'cause I didn't have the things to make it the same LOL. I wasn't looking for a card idea to make this card but was just having a look at some blogs I haven't been on for a while when I came across this most beautiful wedding card. So I changed what I was going to do to case Leah's card. I have printed out my sentiment using the computer as I didn't have a suitable stamp. I also forgot to to take a photo of the card before I wrote on it so I couldn't take a photo of the insert. But if you check out Leah's you will know what it approx what it looked like :)
