Suprise Birthday Card

Another quick post - This card was for a friend's 12 year old boy. I really wanted to try a pop-out card. I loved how the name turned out inside the card and I think it would have been a nice surprise for him when he opened it.
I got the idea and instructions from
here at Extreme Cards and Papercraft. They have lots of wonderfully different pop-out ideas if one is wanting to give it a go.

Beautiful Birthday Wishes

Here is a card that I am so super proud of!!!! I know that it is nothing dramatic or different or super creative but I just love it! I think because of it's pretty, pretty colours! I made it for a friend who I knew, loved the waterfall style card - so I made her a pretty, feminine one. I think I succeeded if I do say so myself LOL.

I'm So Lucky....

Just a short quick post to show you all what just arrived in the mail today. Don't we all love surprises!!! This gorgeous card arrived for me, from Kim, who is my upline's upline (clear as mud LOL)
I was on the phone to my sister-in-law when I saw the post man put something in the letterbox, so she got to hear all my excitement.
The "Best Wishes" is stamped on a velum overlay - very nice!
So Kim, if you are reading this THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has made my day!

All that Glitters...

Just a quick post to show the little notebook that I decorated to match the card that I showed in an earlier post.
Have had the photo for ages and am only now getting around to showing it off.
I am proud to report that the recipient loved them. Give myself a pat on the back LOL - YILM!!!!

August Workshop

Hi all - for our workshop this month, we did Father's Day cards. The first one is cased from a card I made at one of Karen's workshops last year. I think it is sooooo cute. The picture doesn't show it, but the background has been stamped with the Canvas background stamp. On this one I used VersaMark, but at the workshops we used Mellow Moss and it showed up much better.

Then we made this card up - I used the you-beaut SU colour wheel to pick the colours and kept it nice and simple. I was very pleased with how it turned out.

Then to finish off we made this super cute little gift bag. The idea is off SCS. It is called a One Sheet Box and that is literally what it is! You take a sheet of paper, make a few folds and WAH-LA! you have this super cute little gift box.

So as always if you want to make some cards the easy way LOL - where you get the kit in the mail, all pre-cut to size, ready to make the three adorable items above, then send me an email and I can have one whisking it's way to you ASAP!

And on a final note, just thought I'd throw this photo in for fun. All set up, ready and waiting to go, at this last workshop, with their little thank-you gifts waiting......

Christmas in July

This is a card I made for a "Christmas in July" swap. As you can gather by the name, we all had to make a "Christmas" themed card. And.... little 'ol me realised AFTER I said yes, that I had no Stampin' Up Christmas stamps!!! LOL ... Luckily I had seen this idea where the flower from the "Scribble This" set makes a lovely Christmas poinsettia. Usually two are cut out and layered together. But I liked mine with only the one. And the Christmas sentiment is out of the "Occasional Greetings" set. I have embossed the sentiment with silver embossing powder and applied Diamond Dust glitter to the main flower and also the small flowers. Just to give it that touch of "Christmas" sparkle!!! LOL

Baby Pink...

Hi all - this is a card I have made for a friend who has just had... you guessed it! A Baby Girl!! This friend loves Shabby Chic, so after checking out the style on the net I decide on pinks and greens, then used my u-beaut SU colour wheel to choose which green went best with Pretty in Pink. Don't know if I like it that much. I had an idea in my head and it hasn't quite turned out the way I imagined. Half way through I decided that it would look better with the base card turned so that it opened sidways and made the trim and the little word window (which then run along the ribbon, along the bottom) and I was thinking this is looking great - then realised (or forgot) that I had made the dress for the end result orientation and it just wouldn't fit the other way!!! So anyway please give me your verdict LOL.

Check out Karen's - she has made a card for this same friend in the Shabby Chic style and hers is soooo beautiful!!! - Karen has really caught the essence of the Shabby Chic.

6 Month Celebrations

Guess what!!! I have been a Stampin' Up demonstrator for 6 months!!! Yeah, yeah I know, doesn't sound like much, but for me it is a big thing and I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the great bunch of girls I have that come to my workshops each month.
I consider myself very lucky and very blessed for the wonderful group I have and since I have been doing this now with these girls for the last six months, I thought I might give a little back to them to say "Thank you very much, all of you, for your wonderful support and for your friendships - I certainly wouldn't still be doing it without you girls".
I have about 13 who try to come each month which I have separated into two groups. They all don't get to come every time but they all, always make an effort to come regularly. And I appreciate them all. Some of them I have only met since doing SU.

These are some of the little thank you gifts that I made up for "my" girls. I got the idea to make them when I saw one on my upline, Karen's blog. I found the instructions for this "Box-in-a-Bag"
here. Aren't they just the cutest. Originally I was only going to make one or two as one of my "prizes" but when I made the first one up, it was smaller than I imagined, so I changed my thank you gifts to these bags. I think they went down a treat.
Then because it was a "celebration" I also made up these "prizes" to give out. I made one lot for each group - enough so that everyone got a prize. I used an idea I got from fellow team member Leigh for them to win their prize. I got them to each choose a gift and then I told them we would now play a game called "Left/Right" where I read a story and they have to pass their prize left or right when they hear the word. I don't know about them but I was laughing soooo hard, I could hardly read the story!!!!

I made these four cards to go with the major prize for the day of the matching stamp set. I got the idea for these out of the SU catalogue. I was very pleased with how they turned out. Very simple but very effective.

I think a great day was had by all! Well I had a great day LOL. Considering how I was feeling the night before the workshop with my full-on weeks leading up to it. But I really enjoyed myself as I also do when I get together with the girls. Thank you.
