Hi - all... here is the card I made for my 'baby' who turned 9!!! on the weekend. I can't believe it!!! Another year and both my children will be in double figure numbers! WOW! As long as we all keep aging then life is good isn't it......
It started out as the KWerner challenge for the week, which was using only the colours Black, Grey and White, which at the time I thought would be a great combo for him as his favourite colour is black. But when I tried to make it in those colours alone it just didn't look right for a young boy, so I gave up on the challenge and put some Red with it. I don't mind it, but as usual since it is for a loved one, it didn't turn out as special as I would have liked it to be. He liked it though so I suppose that is a good thing...... And yet another step card...... No not fed up with them yet LOL

March Workshop...
Hi all - how are you all going? I am good after my rather hectic weekend. We had our youngest son's birthday on Saturday with a family party on Saturday night and then I had my workshops on Sunday. Great weekend but was really glad to go to bed Sunday night!!!
For this workshop I had told the girls we would do a 'Glitter Window' card (compliments of SCS) and maybe Easter cards. So that's what we did..... The above card is the Glitter Window card which when I read the instructions was not how I thought it was made (again! didn't I do that recently ROFLOL - I made a couple last year just going by the picture and made the 'window' so that one saw a sentiment that was typed on the inside of the card.)
So for the girls I checked it out properly and made this one like the one on SCS.

Then we made this 'Easter' card which is cased off the SU website. I thought it was just a really simple but really pretty card. I have also used a couple of different techniques to do it eg: rock & roll, masking, heat embossing.
Then we finished off by making this cute little Bunny basket which I have cased from a SU demonstrator, Chris Twing. I made mine slightly different and a bit smaller as I wanted to get all the pieces out of an A4 sheet of paper and not a 12 x 12 sheet. But to look at it, it looks like Chris'.
So if you would like a pre-cut kit that includes everything* to make these three wonderful things then check out my side bar on the workshop info to see how easy it is to get one.

9th Birthday Card...
Hi all - here is a card that I made for a friend's son's birthday in December. It is almost completely cased from someone off SCS. Normally I put a link to the photo at the time so when I get round to posting it, I can give credit where due. But I didn't and I have searched and searched and I just can't find the one on SCS. So if anyone knows where it is then please let me know so I can give due credit. Thank you to the person for your beautiful creative inspriation.
The only thing that I changed (I think) was the DS paper and I added the age onto mine.

A Swap Card....
Hi all - here is a card I made for a colour challenge ages ago and didn't get round to putting it on my blog. We had to use the colour 'Summer Sun' and I am NOT a yellow person AT ALL! But I am pleased to say that I didn't mind this at all when I finished it. I think the other colours helped really set it off. (Straight off the you-beaut SU colour wheel - If you haven't got one yet then ya just gotta get one!!!) I also really liked the simplicity of it.

Birthday Boy....
Here is the card I made for our nephew who turned six. As usual I had to make one in a hurry (story of my life!!! LOL) so I used a pre-cut card left over from a previous workshop. It was the only one I had that was male colours but they weren't really young male colours so I dressed it up with bugs to try and make it more boyish. I was pretty happy with how it turned out and he really love the style with the hidden message so it was all good. :-))

Partners in Crime...
I am very fortunate to have my DH's sister-in-law as not only as a family member, but also a very good friend and also.... only two days younger than myself!!!! (And boy! She doesn't let me forget it!!! LOL. We have always had the fun and enjoyment of celebrating our birthdays together and this one was no exception. I think it was extra special having someone to celebrate with... moan about getting older with... cry on each other's shoulder.. sorry getting away from myself here LOL.
Anyway... back to the story.... as a little extra, I decided to try and make the above album for her. A friend of mine had made one for someone else last year and I really wanted to give one a go. When I finished it I didn't know if I liked it or not, but I don't mind it now. It didn't turn out how I was planning. I wanted to use DS papers but the ones I had weren't colours that she liked. But all was well in the end..
Then late the night before party when neither of us had still made a card for each other, I received a text from her challenging me to a purple and black card. That was our colour theme for the party the next day so she had a bright idea that we should each make our cards in those colours.... WHAT WAS SHE THINKING!!!! LOL (Luv Ya Mel) I sent back, You're on!!! This was the card I made.
And just for a little extra, these are the invites that we made. (This was before we decided to do a colour theme).

Ps: I think I may have gone a little overboard with the glitter on the name! LOL

Punch Challenge...
Hi all - here is a card that I made for a Team Challenge. We were challenged to do something creative with punches.
I had thought and thought about it for a week or two but not actually sat down to give it a go.... Then one arvo while waiting for a friend to turn up, I sat playing with some scraps and some punches sitting on the table (no, I usually don't get round to cleaning up after I play LOL) I was playing with the idea of how one punches a shape (in this case, the scallop) then re-inserts it, turns it slightly, and punches again. And before I knew it, with the use of the Spring Flower Bouquet punch also, I had these lovely flowers sitting on the table beside me!!!!
The grass is cut free hand and the sky (can't see it too clearly) has been sponged with Whisper White to look like clouds (another idea I had seen ages ago and took a few goes ie: binned pieces LOL, to get it to look how I wanted).
I was really please with how the card turned out in the end.
